Details - Summary : Mellow is an acronym for LifeLOng Mentoring of Women in or towards technical jobs.The Mellow project has been developed within the framework of the program LEONARDO DA VINCI, the European Commission Action's program for the implementation of a European Community Vocational Training Policy.
Mellow consists of three subdivisions:

students (girls) in secondary education go out into the technical field for a day with a female engineer in order to get a realistic view of her work;
female students in higher technological education are coached by an experienced female engineer during the transition from education to employment. The period of coaching covers a time span of six months before graduation until at least six months after graduation;
junior female engineers are coached by experienced female engineers in the development of their careers.
In addition, a training program (subdivision D) for mentors in B and C has been developed. Mellow started in 1995 as a Pilot Project in a partnership of institutions of five European countries. After successful accomplishing the Pilot Project, a Multiplier Project has been started with partners in eight countries.
Within the framework of the Mellow Pilot Project, the concept of mentoring has been developed, tested and improved.
