The aim of the IMPROVE
project was to develop a best practice guidelines for
companies. The handbook covers the preparation and
development of training programmes for female trainees,
studying within the fields of science, engineering
and technology. The guidelines provide tools for host
organisations to use when planning a trainee placement
in a male dominated sector, and checklists for companies
to ensure equal opportunities practices are being adhered
to in their organisations.
The booklet "Getting the most of hosting a trainee
- best practice guidelines" was published in August
2001 and is
